As we all know the Romans were very powerful, but lacked many resources which was one of the main reasons why they invaded other countries and later then conquered. Britain, was the unlucky country at this time because the Romans saw what Britain had and what they were capable of so they wanted to take it all away from them.
Around 55 B.C. the Roman general, Emperor Julius Caesar invaded Britain. He took with him two Roman legions. After winning several battles against the Celtic tribes (Britons) in south-east England he returned to France.

Later in the year Caesar came to Britain again landing at Walmer near Deal in Kent. This time he brought with him five legions (30,000 foot soldiers) and cavalrymen (horse riders). Julius Caesar reported once they got their that there was good soil, there was plenty of food and people that could be used as slaves.
The Romans were crossed with Britain for assisting the Goals (now called the French) fight against the Roman general Julius Caesar.
They came to Britain for certain things and ended up leaving with land, slaves, and most of all, iron, lead, zinc, copper, silver and gold. This was all useful for the Romans in order to make their empire more stronger.
Why did Romans leave Britain?
-Their homes in Italy were being attacked by fierce tribes and every soldier was needed for protection. Having large numbers of soldiers that are prepared is the best strategy any empire can have in order to keep conquering. So the Romans were smart enough to not risk their live for something small.
What did the Romans call London?
-The Romans called London ‘Londinium’.
The River Thames was quick way to transport goods between Britain and the continent. The Romans realized and built the town Londinium around the river’s main crossing point.
Once Romans conquered Britain their way of thinking was to use them as slaves, and they did. They taught most of the people in Britain latin and the young boys to train for the army.
This is relevant in todays society because this taught us how the armies now train and where they get their ideas. Only some armies are strong enough to beat their enemies. This is why each army has their own way of attacking to try and take over maybe just to get what they want.
You can say the Romans didn’t play when it came to organizing their empire.
