Throughout my freshman year of college I’ve learn plenty of concepts. Humanities Core is usually a challenging course but it’s like any class in college, there is always going to be a challenge in any course anyone takes. Humanities Core really helped me build up my skills for not only writing but expanding my knowledge on certain issues in society back then and now.
Although at the start of this course was stressful because I was not ready to start reading books, (as you know I’m not a big fan of reading). As days started to pass I started to get the hang of it and built more connections to it. Even if your major does not relate to any of this, it’s okay because mine doesn’t. This course only gave me interest because I knew it took out some GE’s. A way to keep interest in this course can be relating the topic you are learning at the point of the class to everyday life, or better yet, you can possibly relate the certain topic to your major. For example, my major is Psychology and Social Behavior and related my major to how the romans psychologically messed with people just to win over more territory.
Not only does what you’re learning have to be interesting but also the seminar leader you have plays an important role. For example my seminar leader is cool, he not only is an understanding person but with every topic he makes sure you understand and tries his best to get you into the topic. For future reference for whoever is reading my blog, my seminar leaders name is Dr. Buhanan. You wont regret it if you choose him!
Overall, Humanities Core has been a rollercoaster with mostly positive things but I am glad I took this for a whole year, it has brought me great friends. Humanities Core has put me on an infinite journey that I still have a long way of continuing and excited to find out new possibilities. Once and for all, good-bye.
Be the change you want to see in the world!
P.s: that’s the only quote I remember from humanities core š
