68 million people are on the move or running away from the human rights violations. Millions of them are refugees; the rest are internally displaced and stateless people. To this day there are protests and marches throughout the world trying to stop for example separation within a family. It can become hard for a person being alone trying to live without their loved ones. This is why most people risk their lives trying to cross boarders to be with family because family means everything.
Although stoping people from crossing the border is something that will continue to happen, I believe that all people deserve a chance to see their family members or partners at least for a certain while.
Personally, I have not experienced having a close family member that is stuck in another country but talking to my mom from her experience, it is heartbreaking and I will always wish the best for any family to be together for as long as they can.
